It was bound to happen sooner or later, I suppose, although I honestly was surprised when it did. Rugby is nosy, but he’s not all that nosy, and his curiosity is often extended to looking but not touching. So he broke that rule completely.
I came home from work on Sunday night, and Michael met me at the door with an apology. That’s never good. These things always seem to happen when Daddy is home alone watching the dog.
When I saw Rugby, I knew why Michael was apologizing. Rugby poked his head out between his Daddy’s legs, and I could see immediately what the problem was. Rugby’s face was just filthy! He looked like he had two black eyes, but most of his snoot was very dirty as well. And then came the explanation: “I just went into the kitchen for a minute, and when I came back to the living room, this is what I saw. I think he got into the fireplace.” What the WHAT???
Yup….soot faced Rugby! If you’ve ever had to clean soot, you know that it’s an oily, dirty business that doesn’t clean up very easily. And as you can see from the photos, Rugby got it right up to his eyes….which was not going to be easy to clean up!
So enjoy today’s Saturday Snicker: Rugby’s snoot in full soot! Next week….the clean up!!
