A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

June 17, 2015 By Sally 8 Comments

This photo is one of my very favorites of Rugby because I was able to capture his expressive eyes so very well.   This is who he really is.  These are the very same eyes that stared at me through my computer screen 7 years ago and made me fall in love with a little speckled puppy.  This little face is what keeps me trying new things to improve the quality of his life day after day.  These eyes often carefully and softly consider me at night during snuggles, when it’s quiet and just he and I cuddling.  How could I ever give up on this little hot mess of speckled fur?  I’ve been blessed to share my life with amazing and wonderful dogs, but Rugby James is the little dog who has changed my world….and as a result, he has changed me.

And Sarah....he tries so hard to work the system with those baby browns!! He honestly is a very cute dog, and he has an equally cute personality under all of that speckled fur! 🙂

There was just something about that little puppy with these amazing eyes staring back at me through my computer screen! I couldn't get him out of my mind, and I kept re-opening the email and looking at his little face, and he just melted my heart! Completely and utterly! When a good 10 days had passed and I still couldn't stop thinking about him, I finally made the phone call, and the rest is history! 🙂

I'm pretty sure his adorable good looks kept him alive through all of the previous homes. He was pulled from a kill shelter by a rescue group less than 24 hours before his scheduled euthanasia, so his time had all but run out. I can't imagine life without him....although I could do with less reactive barking....hahaha!! He's been one of the best blessings ever to be dropped on me!! 🙂
